This is Killer Mike's Sophmore effort that was supposed to come out in 2005.
Biggest Negative: 1 - I know the material is supposed to sound dated, being that this album came out 3 years after it was made, but at times it comes off as an amaturish rookie effort. His first album, Monster, sounded more mature and fresher than this one.
2 - I don't care how on-point your lyrics are, if your beats are wack it just becomes unlistenable, a problem that occurs frequently on this album (See Shot Down, Leave This Hood and Speak Lord). And yes, these beats would have been wack had they came out in 2005.
3 - It's a shame that this album didn't get released on its original scheduale date. With songs like Chose Me and My Chrome this album could have done some good numbers and would have been big in the clubs.
Biggest Positive: 1 - Just like his previous effort, Killer finds the right balance between songs for the streets and the clubs.
2 - I think Killer MIke is one of the most underrated gangster rappers in the game. He should get more credit. Hopefully, he'll get the respect that he deserves from this one.
3- After listening to this a few several times I now find myself somewhat eagerly awaiting his new album. I just hope the beats improve.
With that being said, I would definitely download this one.
